With about a month or so until Opening Day at The BallPark in Old Orchard Beach, we are in full operations mode preparing for our players arrival. Their ETA is roughly May 30, 2016, and plan to receive a warm welcoming from their host family. Unfortunately, at the current moment, we do not have enough host families for our players!
These players are traveling all across the country to do one thing, and one thing only - to live out their dream of playing professional baseball. We, as a professional organization, have a NO tolerance policy for any disrespect, or breaking any rules/regulations. They are here to work at their job every single day, until the season is over and they report back to their families. Not only are they traveling across the country by themselves, they are making the sacrifice to leave their wife(s), young & new born children, and other influential people in their life(s), just to be able to play for our team.
If there is one thing in this world to do to help them, it would be welcoming them into a household for the months of June and July. Providing them with shelter is the only responsibility being a host family. NO food, NO transportation is required by you, being a host family - just accommodating them with a bed to sleep in is all they need.
We need YOU to step up to the plate. So please, anything helps!
Who knows, YOU could be the family to give shelter to a future Major League Baseball Player!
