The Downtown Holiday Festival is coming to town Friday, December 1st with bigger and better activities! The evening will feature a visit from jolly old Santa, a tree lighting, Christmas carols and fun holiday performances and games in City Square next to City Hall on Adams Street. Celebrate with us and follow along Buddy the Elf’s journey through the Candy Cane Forest, the Sea of Swirly Twirly Gumdrops, and the Lincoln Tunnel. Enjoy Buddy's Spaghetti Station featuring the 4 main elf food groups (candy, candy canes, candy corn, and syrup!), or try your hand tossing snowballs at Buddy. People may roast marshmallows on an open fire with the Biddeford Recreation Department or enjoy free cookies from around the world prepared by the Biddeford Cultural and Heritage Center. You can also decorate your own sweet treat to take home with traditional cookies from Reilly’s Bakery! Entertainment includes the Salvation Army Brass Band performing carols, a dance performance from Academy of Dance, and crafts with Common Roots Studio's Art Bus. Santa will arrive by 6 p.m., then stick around for free photos courtesy of McKenney Photography. While you're downtown you can view the holiday light display from aboard trolley rides courtesy of BSOOB Transit. And kids of all ages can try their hand at a number of themed games and activities in celebration of the opening night of ELF The Musical at City Theater, premiering December 1st at 7:30pm.
