In the new holiday comedy, HOLLY STAR, a young woman who barely makes a living as a puppeteer returns to Maine for the holiday only to get caught up in a mysterious treasure hunt involving her paintball-obsessed best friend, her tango-dancing grandmother, and a childhood crush.
Directed by Saco resident Michael A. Nickles during one of the coldest winters on record, HOLLY STAR was shot entirely in the Saco-Biddeford area, using recognizable and beloved landmarks as locations.
The film stars Katlyn Carlson (Broadway-bound musical Be More Chill), Brian Muller (The Deuce, The Good Wife), Teya Patt (Fear The Walking Dead, Weeds), and a bevy of very talented local actors, crew, and extras.
HOLLY STAR will be released in the United States, the UK, and France in time for Christmas. It is rated PG (for language, some thematic elements and smoking.)
There will be a Q&A on December 22 at 8:30PM with the director and cast.
